Commissioners

The Texas Constitution, as amended by a 2025 Constitutional Amendment, changed the make-up of the Commission on Judicial Conduct.  Its 13 members, who receive no pay for their service and serves six-year terms, now includes:

  • Six judges appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas, requiring at least two members be trial court judges and no judge or justice may be from the same type of court; and
  • Seven citizen members appointed by the Governor who are at least 35 years old.

All members are appointed with the advice and consent of the Senate.
